Alias: Himitsu Canon: The co-leader of the HOLiCs gang. :3 RP Sample: (Sorry for ze crappiness. DX)
A smiling Odette Devereux took a seat gracefully, smoothing the folds of her simple dress in a single gesture. The fidgeting girl standing before her toyed nervously with her fingers, as if unsure of what to do in her presence. However, with another gesture, Odette gradually coaxed the younger girl into the seat beside her, taking care to ensure that the fifteen-year old was comfortably seated before she reached forward and daintily plucked up a small teapot perched on the coffee table. The sound of hot tea being poured into cups filled the quiet air. After the teapot was placed back down with an inaudible tinkle, the cyan-haired female turned to the other with a deceptively warm expression, her fingers moving to rub comforting circles on the younger girl's back. "Have some tea. You can tell me what's wrong, if you'd like," she said in an almost motherly tone. She watched with perceptive eyes as the other girl took a halting breath and raised a teacup to her lips, sipping gratefully.
It was several moments before words were finally spoken again. "Everything's so overwhelming..."
[/i] came the murmured reply. Odette remained silent as a pause began, patiently waiting. Thus far, from her observations, this would lead directly into what she had suspected all along. The girl was likely yet another throwaway juvenile, plucked from her former residence for what she had done, placed into this asylum for crimes she regretted committing and perceived instability. The same scenario prevailed in quite a number of people's lives. It was almost amusing just how many young teenagers were brought here, prisoners to their own emotions and victims of their own failed machinations. Here they were, little lambs to the slaughter, all in the name of a single man's obsession with the human psyche. There were those who felt no guilt for their actions as well. They too had been brought to this wretched place. And yet, all of their roles had been stolen. All of them had been the perpetrators, willingly doing whatever it was they had done. Now, they were all but victims. Odette wanted to laugh at the irony of it all, but refrained, instead suppressing it to a dim glimmer of sadistic amusement in her glittering eyes. Brief hatred mingled with the twisted amusement. She despised this place. Nonetheless, seeing as she would be forced to stay here for quite some time, it only made sense to arrange things such that the present situation was as tolerable as possible. The laugh she had quashed almost resurfaced when she spared a glance at the girl beside her, whom noticed nothing unusual in the atmosphere, absorbed as she was in her own thoughts. The resurfacing expression of mirth was quickly cut off once again before it even amounted to anything. The girl beside her would have surely bolted if she did. There was no need to frighten off potential prey. If this all played out as calculated and this new girl was not as stupid as she appeared, Odette would ensure that Arlynn soon discovered a new member amongst the HOLiCs. More firepower—or rather, brainpower—would help in their continual battle against the ANTi-HOLiCs. Naturally. Although, admittedly, she wasn't particularly sure this girl would provide any, given what she was seeing so far... But then again, she could be expendable. "Are you referring to the tension? Having to adjust to living here? Or, rather...dealing with whatever you may have done?" she uttered softly, mellifluous voice escaping parted lips to float lazily in the air. At the girl's wide-eyed nod, she continued, daintily moving to cradle a teacup in slender fingers. "It's always awkward in the beginning, but soon enough, you'll find others similar to you." An almost peaceful silence filled the air as Odette took a brief, inaudible sip. "Most of us here have committed crimes in the past. It is the reason we're here in the first place. No one is particularly happy about the things they have done before, but we do our best to recover and change." A lie. The last sentence was, at least. Odette was perfectly remorseless about her own wrongdoings. But this girl didn't need to know that. "I would suppose," she almost drawled, amused at how stupidly attentive the other was, "it may simply be because of the bonds we make here. Unfortunately, life here is divided into two groups. Nonetheless, in spite of the division, wherever you end up going, you will often find support. People to trust. Those who will accept you in spite of everything." More beautiful lies. The inspiring speech was said reverently, but deep down, Odette knew better. Really, it was such a corny speech, like something straight from a drama, but the other girl fell for it, hook, link, sinker. "...I heard...about that,"[/i] came the tentative response. The girl peered at Odette with something akin to growing admiration. "I think...was it the ANTi-HOLiCs and HOLiCs? Uhm...which one are you in?"[/i] This was said with a fidget. Odette smiled. "The HOLiCs. I've found people I trust there. We're a rather nerdy group, actually," she said, laughing, watching absently as the disarming expression of mirth put more eagerness in the girl's eyes. "You can actually chat up one of us about chess for hours. And that's only the beginning of it.""Oh! I used to be on the chess team at my school! We won so many tournaments. But that was before I killed th—" Small hands clapped over a rather large mouth. The girl spoke too much. Odette watched tears resurface in the other girl's eyes and hid a smile. Foolish girl. Speaking about having murdered someone so easily only showed that she was truly a murderer. Odette might have grown more interested in this girl if said girl in question wasn't so ready to expose all of this unnecessary, superfluous guilt. No self-control, it seemed. She let the girl cry for some time, running her fingers through the limp hair comfortingly and concealing her disgust easily. Once the fifteen-year old had recovered enough to stop sniffling every few seconds, Odette patiently waited for her to speak again. And speak she did. "Uhm...so...since you're in the HOLiCs...do you know where I should go to join...?"And Odette Devereux smiled her sweet, deceptive smile. Well. It seems dear Arlynn will be seeing a new member soon.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Alias: Dark Canon: number three RP Sample:
He sighed tiredly, his eyes staring, blank and bored, up at the now gray sky. Pesky storm clouds covering what could be beautiful and wonderful. He expected a storm soon, one that could wash away all that was currently built. He supposed they had to tread carefully now, they being his gang The HOLiCS. He let his eyes flicker shut, his hands now resting behind his head, acting as a pillow. Besides the gray sky, he thought today was the prefect mixture of hot and cold, a cool breeze that sweep through the house. Day's like today made it worthy to go out, he wasn't favoring summer at all. Hot days and sleepless nights. He mumbled something silently to himself, before he pushed himself into a sitting position.
Yeah, he had something important to do today. He needed to find something, informatics of a sort against the ANTI-HOLiCS. A game of castles, he had played it over and over in his head. If they moved too soon, without any sort of footing that would leave them wide open for a counter attack. They needed to be swift, to be quick and lethal. Walter didn't want to loss that footing, he didn't want to lose. He couldn't lose, there was a desire there, pushing him, leading him on. There were always those days when Walter stayed in bed, snoozing away while others slaved around him. He claimed fighting was unimportant, it would only lead to the end. Who wanted to try and convince him that it would all work out in the end, when he would fire sad thoughts right after another. Picking up the points in life no one dared to look to, the skeletons in the closet of this jail-cell.
Walter smiled lifted a tad as he stood up. He had his loyalties, he knew how far he could press buttons. He didn't chance any wrath today, he didn't feel the need to get his head bitten off for a lazy or snide remark. One of the good reason why he laid out in the yard was that he was listening for something he could follow. ANTI-HOLiCS talking about food, or even better what they planned to do. He would confront them today, maybe bumping into them purposely in the hall, or trip them up. Anger the boys so that they attack, or at least spit something out at him. Walter would say a couple of words, try to get them to draw some defensive line, and then leave. A rash actions for their side would be a great spark, and some people make useless threats that could always lead to something greater. His smiled grew just a bit, so maybe today was going to be a good day for Walter. Maybe the gray in the sky was a warning, but for something greater. The air did smell great after a storm, a fresh scent, a great prospect for the upcoming days. The young man stood up, wiped a hand through his gray hair and walked back to the house, ready to get something done.
